Luxury Refurbishment of a South Kensington Apartment
Converting this three-bedroom flat into a luxury apartment was a great challenge. And the fact that any builder did not touch this flat for 60 years created an opportunity for us to strip it entirely back to its bare bones.
But before we could start our work, we had to remove asbestos. The project’s only access was through a fire escape, creating a pretty complicated procedure in order to get a permit to work in this building. But the obstacles didn’t demotivate us because we spotted the potential, and we loved every minute of this transformation!

The work involved creating new partition walls, acoustic floor systems (InstaCoustic), a coffered ceiling which creates the illusion of a higher ceiling, with integrated grilles for AirCon.
Also, a water-cooled air conditioning system, polished plaster, underfloor heating, new seamlessly installed timber flooring throughout the house, porcelain tiles in the bathroom, new electrics and plumbing system, new internal and external doors, new fireplace, joinery work and new windows with acoustic glass.
